Elegant music for a developing pianist
After reading David's book "Secrets to Better Piano Playing", I can see how helpful "Serenity" will be in allowing me to practise what he preaches ... and play beautiful music (properly) SOON. I've decided to learn to play the piano properly after wandering in the wilderness ("fumbling about" without scales and arpeggios) for the last 37 years. "Serenity" is elegant and meditative to both play and listen to. The pieces are of varying degrees of difficulty, so you can use them to steadily improve your playing. Not only that, the music is constructed so elegantly that you can see/hear the patterns and rules of music unfold in front of you as you play. (A much more meaningful way to learn theory than reading a text book on its own!) There are pieces for nearly every key signature, so you can link a scale you are learning with a particular piece. I do find some of the endings arrive a little too soon - or is this simply because I am enjoying playing them so much I don't want them to end just yet? You may not want to, either! A very sound investment.
